Spectrum Plot Power Calculation

How is power calculated for the plots in the Spectrums tab? Is it measuring the simulated RF?

Hello Chris,

The power you see in the Spectrum is the actual power of the RF at the output of the Radio, MINUS the Output Gain.
Fro GNSS signals, the default Output Gain values for each supported SDRs are:
Dektec: +50dB
X300: +80dB
N310: +60dB

For Interference signals, the default Output Gain values for each supported SDRs are:
Dektec: +30dB
X300: +40dB
N310: +40dB

Hi serge.malo
could you, please, explain, why after i am changing Output Gain for Interference signal from 30 to 20
i do not see 10dB change in Power Spectrum of my Chirp jammer?
it is very confusing…
see pictures below.
i have GSG-842 simulator
skydel version 22.7.0

hi @kchereshnev ,

Indeed, the power display in Skydel does not take into account the gain of the radios.

The power display in the spectrum is an based on digital data and does not represent the real output of the GSG-8.

To make the power change visible in the UI, you can play with other parameters, e.g. Signal Relative Power.

I hope this helps. Please don’t hesitate to follow-up with more questions if you have any.
